nursery projects

Well, Michael and I have been hard at work preparing the nursery over the last few weeks. I've been crafting it up by making bedding, sewing curtains, and painting furniture. I even decided to join the blogland trend and paint an Ikea rug for the nursery! But, I'm not ready yet to show pictures of the whole room, because I have so much more to do! I will put some pictures of the projects though :)

Here is the ugly dresser before.

I'm too lazy to break out the sander, and it is way too cold to take this project into the garage, so I used a liquid sander/deglosser. It worked surprisingly well though!

Since we moved into our new house, I have been painting lots of furniture and I must say, I am really sick of it! It takes fffffffffooooooooooorrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeevvvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrr. Or maybe I'm just impatient and a little dramatic :)

But, I must say, a little patience pays off in the end. Here is the before and after!

And, onto the rug. I decided to take a plain Ikea rug and paint on it using the "Funky Wheel" stencil from Cutting Edge Stencils. It turned out to be more difficult than I thought it would be, but it definitely adds some fun into the nursery! And, Michael was a trooper and helped me throughout the whole (tedious) project. Here is a little peek of what part of the rug looks like.

That's all the projects I will show for now :) But here are some pregnancy pictures! I feel like I am really starting to "pop" (as my husband calls it). Sometimes, when he gets home from work, he will say, "Wow! You look sooo pr [Here I think he is going to say pretty] egnant!!" lol. Then of course he follows that with a more tactful compliment :) It is really cute how excited he is for these boys to come, though.
